Large diamonds weighing 10 + Carat sold at a very good price. This auction with the current shortage in the supply of rough diamonds is a certain precursor of the high price of the upcoming diamond.
Even the smaller sizes of diamonds are good buyers in these two auctions. The trend in these auctions are usually good indicators of how the diamond market is behaving in the short term. As a large number of diamond retailers, especially in Asia diamond set jewellery prices have already increased as the trend for the purchase of these markets have moved the jewelry of traditionally strong gold to diamonds.
This strong trend in Asia is having a net of water to effect on the market of jewellery to the United States. It will be interesting to monitor how it affects jewellery online and offline stores in terms of total sales and the average sale section.
