Jewelry Tips - Making Jewelry Shopping Easier For Men

It's not easy to go out for shopping with women, especially because they will look at a hundred things and then will get confused. Have you ever faced a situation where your wife spends the entire day out to find a piece of jewelry and then say that she is not sure about what she wants to buy?
You get embarrassed in the showroom because of the number of times she will ask the salesmen to show something different and will then request him to show the same set she saw the last time, she shortlists them but then finally feels that they are not worth the cost. It does not make a difference to her but you...
The best way to get rid of this problem is to tell her to shop online, this way you will not have to face the embarrassment, she will be busy on the computer and you get to enjoy the day, the way you want. Not only will this be effortless, but it also becomes easy on your pocket, as the online stores can help you get a great deal. Apart from everything else, you will be able to save money and she will be happy to get so many designs to choose from.
The online stores have plenty of designs and textures, which are impossible for a shopkeeper to keep at one time. She can look at them, imagine them with the outfit she wants to wear and then place an order for her jewelry to be delivered at home.
A lot of people have started to follow this trend. Some of them I know, try looking for the latest designs that get uploaded and keep themselves loaded with them. Fashion is something that a woman can never get tired of.
And unlike men, they will keep on looking till the point they get convinced with the fact that the choice that they have made is the right one. And there will never be one perfect choice. She will look for something today and will require something else tomorrow.
So if there is a possibility that you can buy something at a discount or a price that is lower than the others, then why not grab it. Online stores always have some kind of an offer on the other. And have the latest designs on display and since the variety is so much that you will never find anyone else wearing the same thing as you are. Take a look and find what suits you the best and your friends will be jealous of.

Should women buy their own jewelry or should their spouse?

I own my own gallery filled with jewelry. Women constantly come in and complain that their husbands only buy them what they want, not what she wants. But then men complain that women are never satisfied. What's the deal? Who should be buying what?

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker

Personally, I think it is best if a woman buys her on jewelry since it is really a personal style statement. However, a husband or significant other should be paying attention when they hear their partner say they like something, and then go back and get it. Guy's can buy diamond earrings, or a tennis bracelet, pearls, but anything past that is asking for trouble.

Recognizing and understanding keloids

AppId is over the quota
AppId is over the quota
January 19, 2005By: Bob WhiteheadEach body heals from traumas and abrasions differently. Just like some people bruise very easily, some people scar easily. And for part of the population, scarring isn’t just a darker mark. Their scar tissue becomes fibrous and overgrows, forming a raised, more pronounced scar where the cut or wound occurred. These scars are called keloids. Keloid formation is most common among African Americans and young

Basic Jewelry Tips

>By
Don't you just hate it when your expensive jewelry set will not sparkle forever? It's not a do it yourself clean up act like the human body because it doesn't have the means to manufacture its own cleansing methods and chemicals. Even humans have to bathe to remain glowing and fresh as ever. Face it. That nice shiny emerald brooch, that elegant gold bracelet and that silver earring that cost you a fortune will still lose its dazzling sparkle if you don't have the time or knowledge to care for it. Don't you want to be the envy of the crowd when years pass and your set of magnificent jewelry are still going to make heads turn in your direction?
To understand the basics of cleaning jewelry, one needs to know how those stubborn stains develop or why the metal tarnishes. What about scratches? Real gold or silver nor platinum always exhibit scratches. The skin produces chemicals when metal gets in contact with it and these then exhibit signs of dark unsightly spots on that fine ring or watch of yours. When bleaching your skin take off your jewelry as the chemical might just cause some unsightly blemish or even corrode the metal of your jewelry.
After a wonderful but tiring day, before retiring don't forget to take off your jewelry one at a time and clean them off with a wet flannel cloth. This will remove the grime and salt deposits that your skin sweats usually leave on the metal or stone. If some stains have already developed try to use an effective solution to clean out the dark spots. You can try rubbing it off with a solution of 1 tbsp Hyposulphite to 1 glass of water. Hyposulphite is a chemical that you can buy off the shelf in drugstores.
Metal can corrode or develop unsightly stains if it comes in contact with spa or hair solutions or the one's that are used in bleaching parlors. Usually some people just cry out when their expensive watch suddenly dulls because it came in contact with bleach. One active chemical ingredient found in clinics and hospitals is Iodine which leaves dark spots on metal jewelry.
The military recently found that platinum is the best and sturdiest metal so far. It even surpasses gold and silver. Silver is the most malleable however it comes third in terms of being affected by the ravages of time and natures concoctions. The second is gold and the most enduring piece of metal would be platinum. If you have a platinum piece with your diamond set you can fully understand that the price is worth it as that piece of expensive jewelry will outlive the rest.
Gold pieces can be washed with liquid detergents without the bleaching agents of course. Silver tarnishes quickly and needs to be upkeep by using the same. Store your jewelry in tight containers with fine velvet cloth after cleaning them. Take care to avoid moist areas. Also, avoid bathing or pool swimming while wearing your jewelries, it might slip off unnoticed or the chlorine content in the water might do its damaging job to your precious items.

silver matches EVERYTHING!!! and try to keep it either pretty simple if you are wearing a complex outfit or make it the staple of your outfit if you have on a more plain look another good thing to do is if you are wearing pretty plain colored clothes then try to make your jewelry be the color pop of your outfit! layering long and short necklaces is good but do like a simple long one and a interesting short one or the other way around. if you cant find a pair of earrings 2 match your other jewelry or clothes then hoops look good with absolutely everything!!! layering 2-4 bracelets is really cute like more then one bangle or a charm bracelet and a watch. for rings just don't wear a billion at a time 2 is okay or maybe 1 on each hand but one on every finger??? it just looks stupid so stick to one maybe 2 rings and either make them pop or keep it simple. i hope that those tips helped!!! :)

    Silver jewelry goes with anything.

    * Never mix gold and silver
    * do not wear to much jewelry
    * wearing a combination of bracelets and a necklace is bad
    * try to wear earrings & a bracelet (or two) or wear a necklace and ring
    * do not wear jewelry that looks... freakish...

January 19, 2005By: Bob WhiteheadWhile genital piercing for pleasure and aesthetic value is a relatively recent phenomenon in American society, the pierced labia has been around for centuries. Matched piercings on the right and left labia minora or majora could be linked together with body jewelry in order to ensure a woman’s virginity or fidelity. Nowadays, labia piercings are more for sexual enhancement and for an appealing appearance.

General Jewelry Tips for 2008 - The Do's and Don'ts

By

Jewelery is a personal ornament, such as a necklace, ring, or bracelet, made from gemstones, precious metals or other substances. If cosmetic is for the body, shoes are for the feet, jewelries are for the clothes. Jewelries can make you look trendy, classic or even cheap. Proper use can also make any clothing look expensive.
Categories of jewelry
1. Fine - is made from gold, platinum, fine silver, combined with precious and semi-precious stones.
2. Costume - is made from lower cost materials such as metals with gold and or silver finishes, and from unusual materials such as wood, plastic and beads. Costume jewelries are usually combinations of glass, synthetic or some semi-precious stones.
Do's: * Wear contrasting shape all the time if you have a round body built.
* Wear ivory and tortoiseshell, but only if they're fake.
* Assemble a collection of good, basic costume jewelry:
- a pair of matching gold bangle bracelets, or a gold cuff not wider than an inch and a half.
- Link necklaces in varying lengths.
- a pair of simple gold hoop earrings, or gold button-style clip-ons
* Buy a two-tone watch so that you can wear it with silver or gold jewelry.
* Keep your jewelry organized. Even egg cartons or plastic silverware trays will do.
* Wear large earrings if you're a large woman--you're among the few who can carry them off.
* Anything dangling such as earrings make a body silhouette slim.
* Jewelry is an effective focal point of the viewer's eye to distract attention away from any body flaws.
* Gold tones fit almost any skin color.
Dont's... * Mixing real diamonds from fake diamonds will make the real look fake.
* Don't overdo.
* Wear jewelry that jingles when you walk.
* Pierce your ears more than twice in each lobe. Never wear earrings so heavy that they stretch your lobes.
*Mix your metals. Silver jewelry is out of the question if your jacket has gold buttons.
* Wear rhinestones before 6 p.m.
* Squeeze a large neck into a dainty choker. It just doesn't work.

No matter what crafty things that you decide to do, always pruchase the very best materials that you can..While following the instructions for your particular craft don't ever be afraid to add your own personal touch.. A pattern is only a guide..who knows..maybe your unique touch may inspire a new trend..Micheals and Joann's have alot of inspiring craft ideas.. I go every now and then for beading supplies and usually want to load the cart with one of everthing..check out a place called fire mountain gems on the web, they have tons of jewelry and clothing embellishment ideas and you can request a free catalgue that is huge. Happy Crafting..

  • My tip is don't buy into the racket. Don't get a machine, or buy ready-made, to do what you could do yourself. For example, it is a lot of fun and very rewarding to make shapes out of fabric and paper for embelleshing scrapbook pages, even though the "industry" would like you to believe you should buy theirs and then just assemble it. Never assemble when you can create.

But I do believe in using patterns until you acquire enough skills to design your own stuff. Browse the craft section of the pattern books at Jo-Anns, and make some cool things for your home.

  • Learning to dressmake is a fabulous thing. To understand the way a garment is constructed frees you up from having to follow patterns. I'm in the SCA and live in awe of those people who can look at a medieval painting, then go home and make the outfit. Mosaic is a fun thing too. I've only done one chest of drawers, but I had fun and now have the skills to re-tile the bathroom or kitchen if it ever needs doing. :)
I think your first step ought to be the craft/ DIY shelf of your local library. There'll be craft books on all sorts of things, even things you've never heard of. Your second step could be to join a craft group. I recommend the SCA (http://www.sca.org) if you are into medieval crafts and things, there are a lot of people doing a lot of different things who'll be happy to swap notes with you. Otherwise, your town probably has a spinners and weavers guild, a knitting group, a quilters group, and who knows what else. Do a google search using the words "guild" or "association" and that should bring them up.

Getting and Caring for Silver Bracelets

Silver bracelets for women have been with us for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. Silver has always enjoyed wide admiration for its beauty and practicality. Some people consider gold to be too garish, preferring the elegant simplicity of silver. You can find silver bracelets with all kinds of semi-precious stones, or unadorned, with an almost endless number of possible designs. This article will discuss important aspects and offer some useful advice as concerns wearing or buying silver
